Review the HOW TO MAKE A DOCUMENTARY again and at least three of the MEET ME AT THE CORNER video podcasts. This is a good way see examples of video podcasts done in a “documentary” style. Plan your video. Filmmakers use a storyboard to plan their movies. A storyboard will help you plan your shoot from beginning to end.
  • Study our storyboard then create one of your own. Use the blank storyboard to "sketch out" the actions of your interview. Once you have a completed storyboard, you have a plan on how to shoot your video. Click here for a sample documentary storyboard and a blank storyboard for your use.
  • Add voiceovers.
  • Your documentary will be more interesting if you tell us something about your event. You can do this by adding “voiceovers” at the end of your footage.
  • What is a voice over? A voice over is a way to tell your story without being on camera. Record five voiceovers at the end of your footage. Your voiceovers must include:
    1. The name and place of your event.
    2. The reason they hold this event in your town.
    3. Describe the event and the people who attend.
    4. Describe your favorite part of the event.
    5. A voiceover about anything you want to say about the event.
